About the role

  • Service Writer coordinating Service Department operations and communication between customers and technicians at Belkorp Ag. Managing work orders and ensuring service efficiency and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Know the status of every job in your shop and ensure the customer and the store manager know the status of the repair before they contact you for an update
  • Answer most of the calls to the Service Department and field customer inquiries
  • Open work orders and maintain control until they are closed and invoiced
  • Assist your Shop Supervisor in ensuring that your shop is meticulously clean and professional in appearance. Adopt our Everything Speaks Philosophy
  • Assist with maintenance, security, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Create purchase orders as required, including contacting necessary vendors to obtain equipment
  • Maintain Service Department filing and records
  • Update customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work orders
  • Participate in monthly Service Safety meetings, initial new hire safety training of Service Technicians
  • Maintain Service Technician timecard tracking daily
  • Prepare Service Technician efficiency reports
  • May process warranty and/or product improvement claims, including the computation of charges, submission, and follow-up when required
  • Assist with the assignment & scheduling of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees according to their skills and knowledge.
  • Review technician notes in work orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Advise the Service Supervisor and/or Store Manager of all customer complaints.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

Requirements

  • Superior organizational practices
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Customer-first approach
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Knowledge of office procedures
  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms is preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
