Calibration Support Engineer ensuring accuracy and reliability of equipment critical to engineering and maintenance at Babcock's Devonport Royal Dockyard. Manage logistics and maintain strong internal and customer relationships.
Responsibilities
Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the equipment that underpins engineering and maintenance operations.
Building strong relationships with internal teams and customers.
Solving problems and helping to continually improve how calibration services are delivered.
Managing the receipt, dispatch and logistics of instruments, including arranging collections and deliveries.
Assisting customers with enquiries and technical questions, reviewing specifications to ensure accurate support.
Updating and maintaining the equipment database with timely, accurate information.
Conducting routine onsite audits to ensure correct status control and compliance with quality standards.
Supporting the mechanical calibration team and helping to maintain smooth coordination between customers and laboratory operations.
Requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence engaging customers and colleagues.
A customer‑focused approach with excellent attention to detail and a methodical working style.
Proficiency with IT systems, including Microsoft Office and digital workflow tools.
A dependable, professional manner and the ability to deliver work consistently and accurately.
Level 3 qualification and relevant engineering experience.
Ideally, completion of a recognised apprenticeship in an associated discipline.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
