Responsibilities
Evaluate Arizona courts accounting and cash handling practices
Ensure conformity to Minimum Accounting Standards (MAS)
Complete on-site reviews including collecting data, interviewing staff, and reconciling financial records
Draft reports summarizing deficiencies and recommending improvements
Work with courts to ensure correct financial controls
Provide on-site operational assistance and training for courts with identified financial issues
Monitor state treasurer reports and evaluate monthly deposits of assessments
Assist in resolving problems with courts and treasurers
Provide assistance to IT and court staff on financial questions
Develop and provide training on financial management practices
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or related degree
Minimum of five years experience performing accounting, financial management, or case management duties
Knowledge of financial management practices and accounting principles
Experience collecting and analyzing data
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to organize and prioritize workload, manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Preferred: knowledge of court practices, court financial systems, and/or information systems
