About the role

  • Project Developer at Aula Energy managing renewable energy projects in Australia. Oversee project development from identification to construction commencement in a hybrid working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of project development, including land, environmental, permitting, stakeholder management, resource assessment, initial engineering, and grid connection activities, up to the point of financial close.
  • Lead the development and optimisation of project technical design and parameters.
  • Oversee activities to achieve development approval and permits, including management of third-party environmental and planning advisers, and collaborating with the engineering and construction team to manage geotechnical design and early works.
  • Support the development of project technical documentation and technical schedules for project execution and operations & maintenance.
  • Lead project reporting and project management functions, including preparation and management of development schedules, budgets and cost tracking for all development activities.
  • Provide expertise on a range of project tendering processes and due diligence on new development projects and pipeline acquisitions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including local communities, landholders, Councils, and Traditional Owners.

Requirements

  • Minimum graduate-level degree (or equivalent) in environmental, engineering, planning, science, or business
  • Ideally five to seven years of hands-on experience in the development of onshore utility scale renewable energy projects in Australia, with good understanding of the context and challenges of the sector in Australia
  • Demonstrated track record in renewable energy project development, including management of activities to achieve development approval and permits and negotiation of agreements with landowners and Councils.
  • Excellent project management skills, with proven ability to develop and manage project governance artefacts, including schedules, budgets, cost control, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
