Building Engineer responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of Atlantic Union Bank facilities. Collaborating with the Facilities Coordinator and managing service requests and vendor activities.
Responsibilities
Under occasional supervision, the Building Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of all Atlantic Union Bank-owned and leased facilities.
Works in close coordination with a designated Facilities Coordinator and Regional Facilities Specialist to ensure service requests, preventative maintenance, and vendor activities are executed efficiently.
Supports day-to-day facilities operations, vendor management, and minor construction projects while maintaining safe, reliable, and compliant building systems.
Responds to maintenance requests and service calls, assessing issues either remotely or on-site and determining the appropriate corrective action.
Coordinates closely with the designated Facilities Coordinator and consults with the Regional Facilities Specialist on non-routine or unusual situations.
Performs general building maintenance and repairs, including basic electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry work.
Provides routine services such as replacing light fixtures, ceiling tiles, air filters, and completing other facility-related tasks, including installation or hanging of artwork, fixtures, and equipment as required.
Conducts scheduled inspections of all facilities as directed, documenting deficiencies, required repairs, and recommended improvements or renovations.
Communicates findings and priorities to the Facilities Coordinator and Regional Facilities Specialist for ticket creation in CMMS system.
Coordinates, schedules, and meets vendors and contractors on-site to facilitate repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and system upgrades.
Serves as the on-site point of contact to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
Attends facilities meetings and provides technical input and on-site support throughout the lifecycle of maintenance activities.
Provides 24/7 emergency response support outside of normal business hours when required.
Supports the Workplace and Security Management Team with special projects, decommissioning and performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Building Engineer/Technician role
Minimum five (5) years of experience in maintaining complex buildings.
Demonstrated experience in building engineering or facilities maintenance, with working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems sufficient to perform semi-complex repairs.
Ability to coordinate work across multiple sites, prioritize service requests, and collaborate effectively with a Facilities Coordinator, Regional Facilities Specialist, and third-party vendors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address routine operational issues using established policies and procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.
Ability to work with occasional supervision, exercising independent judgment in interpreting guidelines and procedures, and escalating unusual matters as appropriate.
Proficiency in standard computer systems, Microsoft Office applications, work order management systems, and communication tools.
Possession of a valid state-issued driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
Must be able to travel to all company-owned and leased properties as required.
Ability to handle a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
