About the role

  • Conducting premium audits for various coverage lines including Workers Compensation and General Liability. Ensuring compliance and maintaining regulatory standards as part of the audit process.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts premium audits (both Physical & Virtual) for all lines of coverage across all business units of moderate to difficult complexity
  • Handling of audit disputes received from insured/agents/brokers
  • Ensures compliance and regulatory standards are maintained
  • Arranging premium audit appointments with insureds and/or brokers
  • Reading policies to determine exposure basis for each policy
  • Communicate with insureds, Program Administrators, agents/producers, and underwriters as required for the information necessary to complete accurate audits and securing that documentation from those parties
  • Perform examination of policyholders' payroll, accounting and financial records to insure accurate calculation of earned premium for customers
  • Analyzes existing data, ISO rules, industry and statutory materials, and claims
  • Actively working in the NEXUS premium audit system to pick up and complete assigned audits
  • Reviewing changes in exposure such as alterations of the operations, products or services, additional or deleted classifications, new construction, additional locations, etc.
  • Direct interaction with Program Administrators, Brokers & Underwriting team to answer questions about the audit process or results
  • Responds to and resolves audit disputes and makes appropriate changes to revise audits as needed
  • Compiles pertinent facts related to disputes, documents and communicates the results of the analysis, and prepares amended audits and submits for billing
  • Perform other premium audit related duties as required or requested by management.
  • Mentoring or training of less experienced auditors as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years prior premium audit experience
  • Collaborative and team oriented
  • Customer focused with attention to detail
  • Self-directed showing personal accountability and a sense of urgency
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Current driving license with good driving record & ability to travel
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize a heavy workload to meet agreed upon expectations
  • Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
