About the role
- Water Engineer Intern for Arcadis contributing to projects on water optimization and resilience. Engaging in evaluation, planning, design, and sustainability assessments in a role that emphasizes environmental protection.
Responsibilities
- Gain valuable experience and contribute to various projects related to water/wastewater/stormwater treatment and conveyance.
- Evaluate, plan, design, and provide support for project management in multiple water optimization and water resilience projects.
- Assess, develop, and manage sustainability and resilience projects which will involve conducting vulnerability and mitigation assessments.
- Plan and design for utilities, municipalities, and cities.
- Perform fieldwork activities including site visits, sampling, water quality analyses, and technology evaluations.
- Contribute to troubleshooting and optimizing plant operations.
- Support for Asset Management projects including conducting data analytics and performing operational assessments.
Requirements
- Pursuing a BS in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering, or another closely related academic discipline.
- Prior internship or coursework in water/wastewater, water resources, or related sectors.
- EIT certification.
- Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and work ethic.
- The initiative and ability to take on new projects and other challenges regularly.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented and flexible, with the ability to balance and address new challenges as they arise.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
