About the role
- Part-time Project Water/Wastewater Engineer providing technical expertise at Arcadis in various projects. Supporting engineering tasks and team development while offering flexibility in workload hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and leadership to our team of highly skilled engineers.
- Lead tasks/projects simultaneously and apply technical knowledge and expertise to develop the team’s overall capabilities.
- Evaluate, plan, design, permit and support management of projects for water/wastewater and conveyance.
- Support professional engineering services during construction such as construction observation, review of shop drawings, and permit closeouts.
- Oversee development of design calculations, technical report sections, and specifications.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials for client meetings.
- Facilitate coordination for timely project completion within budget constraints.
- Supervise and support the work of others, mentoring junior-level engineering and design/drafting staff.
Requirements
- 8 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or a related field of study.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- 10 years of relevant water/wastewater experience (preferred).
- Master of Science/Engineering in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study (preferred).
- Experience in design or consulting engineering or Municipal work environment (preferred).
- Project task leadership experience including managing overall project delivery expectations, prioritizing tasks, and mentoring (preferred).
- Active participation in regional and/or national professional association(s) (preferred).
