Responsibilities
Structural analysis for delegated steel connection design projects
Steel connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering
Calculation development, steel shop drawing reviews, submittal preparation, RFI development, and new calculation development
Utilize analysis software programs such as Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit
Review 3-D BIM models to aid in building design, connection design, and shop drawing reviews
Maintain oversight of project schedules, resource planning, and mitigation for all connection engineering tasks
Collaborate with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and erectors
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering
Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering is a plus
PE certification
3+ years of structural engineering experience
An advanced understanding of relevant building codes, materials, and standards
Enthusiasm and desire to succeed and develop technical skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Software skills with Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit are a plus
Attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills
Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
Passion for steel design and growing professional knowledge and skills in steel construction
