About the role

  • Actuarial Specialist developing pricing tools and methodologies for Auto, Property, and Commercial sectors. Collaborating on innovative solutions with pricing actuaries and teams.

Responsibilities

  • create, maintain, and improve upon existing data parsing scripts.
  • complete and enhance data validation processes to deliver pricing datasets.
  • lead pricing on data efforts including dataset development and consultation on data and analytical development.
  • contribute to recommendations and revisions to ratemaking methodologies.
  • explore new actuarial concepts, statistical models, and data sources to deliver innovative solutions for the business.
  • assist with the development of the pricing and rating structure of new products.
  • assist with the development of classification ratemaking methodologies and models.

Requirements

  • demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • advanced knowledge and understanding of property & casualty products, pricing, valuation, financial reporting, and industry trends.
  • demonstrated experience, communicating complex actuarial analysis to business partners.
  • advanced knowledge of and demonstrated experience using actuarial software with database tools and statistical tools.
  • demonstrated experience with programming languages.
  • demonstrated effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • in pursuit of Associate or Fellow in Casualty Actuary Society.
  • coding proficiency in SQL, R, Python, VBA, or other related languages.
  • at least one (1) CAS/SOA exam completed with the intent to complete more.
  • solid knowledge and understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates and industry trends.
  • solid knowledge and understanding of underwriting guidelines and concepts.
  • demonstrated experience performing statistical/actuarial analysis and data forecasting and modeling techniques.
