Assistant Management Accountant providing financial support for Highways PFI contract at Severn Bridge Maintenance Unit. Ensuring accurate transaction records and adherence to reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
Ensuring correct revenue and cost allocation across works
Analysis of scheme profitability and cost variances, including revenue and cost reconciliations
Ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision making across the contract
Supporting the business budgeting and forecasting processes and management of actual performance against the latest budget/forecast
Production of Balance Sheet reconciliations along with identifying and dealing with potential issues
Liaising with Group Finance on queries
Requirements
Part-qualified looking to progress to qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
Previous management accountancy experience in a similar environment
Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of accounting practices and reporting requirements
Experience of supporting the production of management accounts, including working with profit centres and producing variance analyses
Organisation and planning skills, with ability to meet deadlines
Knowledge of SAP would be a distinct advantage
Experience of working within an Infrastructure environment, specifically Highways, Rail, Construction preferred but not essential.
