Responsibilities
Overseeing fire prevention programs and initiatives
Ensuring compliance with fire safety standards
Reducing risks to personnel and critical infrastructure
Leading and managing the Fire Prevention section
Developing, administering, and promoting fire prevention programs
Leading inspection programs for facilities and equipment
Reviewing construction designs and building plans
Conducting fire hazard assessments
Managing fire investigations
Supervising a multi-national team of fire inspectors
Preparing and maintaining accurate reports and records
Serving as a liaison between the fire department and external agencies
Requirements
A minimum of three years of experience leading an F&ES fire prevention section or division in a fire department of similar size and scope to that of Diego Garcia
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification as Fire Inspector III and Plans Examiner I in accordance with recognized fire prevention standards or equivalent qualifications
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance for the duration of deployment
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
Valid passport.
