About the role
- Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer designing mechanical systems for industrial and government facilities. Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project compliance and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Support and execute the design of building mechanical systems for industrial and government facilities, including HVAC, ductwork, piping, and plumbing systems.
- Perform and support the design of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, including B31.3 process piping.
- Develop and check: Engineering calculations, Equipment sizing, System layouts, Design deliverables and drawings.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with structural, electrical, architectural, and process disciplines.
- Utilize discipline‑specific design and analysis software to support system design.
- Apply applicable codes, standards, and procedures (e.g., IMC, ASHRAE, NFPA, ASME).
- Participate in internal design reviews and incorporate review comments.
- Support construction activities, including responses to RFIs and submittal reviews.
- Adhere to established quality assurance programs and procedures.
Requirements
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
- 5+ years in industrial/government design of Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing Systems, and related mechanical building systems
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to meet project budgets and schedules
- Proficiency with discipline-specific tools such as: Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE, PipeFlo, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes & standards (International Mechanical Code, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.)
