About the role
- Senior Tax Accountant reviewing various tax returns and offering strategic tax solutions for a modern public accounting firm. Seeking an experienced professional for a fully remote engagement with occasional travel to Orlando, FL.
Responsibilities
- Review Individual (1040), Partnership (1065), S-Corporation (1120S), and Corporate (1120) tax returns prepared by support staff
- Identify technical errors, compliance risks, and missed tax planning opportunities
- Proactively recommend tax strategies and planning solutions
- Improve internal review workflows and operational processes
- Provide guidance and feedback to remote and offshore team members
- Communicate directly with clients regarding complex tax matters
- Review and adjust QuickBooks financials to ensure tax readiness
- Assist in refining systems to improve turnaround time and reporting accuracy
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Strong hands-on experience with UltraTax (Thomson Reuters)
- Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks
- Proven experience reviewing tax returns , not just preparing them
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote, process-driven environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
