Biomedical Site Engineer specializing in biomedical installation and T&C processes for healthcare projects in Saudi Arabia. Leading compliance and operational readiness for major healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities
Develop and standardize installation procedures, checklists, and inspection protocols for medical equipment across hospital projects.
Establish biomedical coordination workflows between contractors, vendors, and engineering disciplines.
Ensure full compliance with applicable regulatory and technical standards, including the Saudi Building Code (SBC), Ministry of Health regulations, manufacturer specifications, and relevant international healthcare standards (such as HTM and NFPA, where applicable).
Support the Testing & Commissioning Department in creating: Biomedical pre-commissioning procedures, Functional performance testing protocols, Integrated systems testing frameworks, Site acceptance testing (SAT) standards.
Develop structured documentation templates for T&C reporting.
Standardize handover and operational readiness procedures for medical equipment systems.
Monitor on-site installation of medical equipment to ensure: Proper utility coordination (power, gases, data, HVAC). Compliance with design intent and approved shop drawings. Integration with BMS, ICT, and other hospital systems.
Conduct inspections and witness testing activities.
Identify and mitigate risks related to biomedical system implementation.
Participate in high-level coordination meetings within the EPMO.
Ensure biomedical alignment with cost, schedule, and quality baselines.
Conduct periodic audits of biomedical installation and T&C practices across active projects.
Lead technical workshops to ensure consistent interpretation of standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in biomedical delivery frameworks.
Ensure proper documentation for regulatory inspections and final authority approvals.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field from a recognized university
13+ years of professional experience in healthcare projects.
Proven exposure to large hospital developments or medical cities.
Experience in GCC healthcare infrastructure projects preferred.
Extensive experience in hospital and healthcare facility design (acute care, tertiary hospitals, specialty clinics, medical cities).
Strong expertise in: Medical equipment installation and commissioning, Hospital utility coordination (medical gases, UPS, IPS, nurse call, etc.), Operating theatres & ICU equipment integration, Diagnostic and imaging equipment readiness.
Sound knowledge of hospital operational workflows.
Familiarity with BIM-based coordination environments.
Understanding of risk-based commissioning in healthcare facilities.
