Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, planning, and execution for modern IT infrastructure for software, cybersecurity, cloud, data, and AI systems in support of government space missions.
- Work across intradivision stakeholders to assess IT infrastructure needs for software, cybersecurity, cloud, data, and AI research and prototyping.
- Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, and IT experts and leadership across departments to build cross-functional technical teams to achieve project goals.
- Lead teams researching cutting edge IT infrastructure technologies and developing prototypes to demonstrate and benchmark their capabilities for government space missions.
- Collaborate with mission owners to integrate space-based platforms (e.g., small satellites) into software, cybersecurity, cloud, data, and AI research and prototyping environments.
- Create and deliver presentations to internal teams, executives, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, software engineering, or a related STEM field.
- At least 12 years of experience working with software, IT systems, and related technologies.
- At least 5 years of experience working with cloud and cybersecurity systems.
- Proven track record of leading engineering teams, coordinating complex technical tasks among team members, and translating customer needs into viable instructions for engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete tasks, learn new technical approaches, and interact effectively with a broad range of organizations.
- Successful history of promoting positive team dynamics, mentoring team members, and working effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- In depth knowledge of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, roadmaps, and risk management.
- In depth knowledge and hands on experience with at least one public cloud vendor (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience in designing, developing, implementing, operating, and evolving IT infrastructure systems in support of technical users.
- Willing to travel domestically to work locations and customer sites up to 15%, if required.
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
