About the role
- Project Cost Controller overseeing financial aspects of projects at AEG Power Solutions. Managing budgets, cash flow, and ensuring compliance while collaborating with project teams.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and track project costs, hours, and sales to ensure they remain within budget and meet revenue targets.
- Establish processes and tooling for project controlling.
- Investigate and explain discrepancies in costs, labor hours, and sales by analyzing variances.
- Implement cost-control strategies and identify opportunities for savings while highlighting potential financial risks.
- Monitor project cash flow and, with support from the Project Manager (PM), ensure positive cash flow on projects.
- Review project budgets regularly (monthly or quarterly) with the project team and update forecasts as necessary.
- Assist in the development, monitoring, and enforcement of project budgets.
- Prepare and present regular financial reports on project performance.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to project managers, and support financial forecasting and projections.
- Train the project management team on project finance.
- Model and anticipate fluctuations in raw material or labor costs for projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, the finance team, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project financials and clear communication.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards, and maintain accurate project financial records and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Project Cost Controller.
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with financial software.
- Strong knowledge of ERP software: SAP R/3 and SAP S/4HANA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to our factories in Germany, Spain, Singapore, and China.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
