About the role

  • Automation/ML Engineer responsible for developing robotic and AI/ML manufacturing systems at Adtran. Collaborating on hardware and software design with a focus on automation within the industrialization team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design and development of automated manufacturing systems, HW or SW oriented
  • Generate design concepts for industrial solutions and work directly with system end users doing so
  • Document the design concept and propose HW/SW implementation toolset
  • Design and document HW/SW components during development phase
  • Keep the documentation up to date during complete system life cycle
  • Work independently as well as team member on both HW and/or SW development tasks
  • Ensure that the production system meets the design specifications and needs
  • Work with production and test engineering during deployment of the system into factory environment
  • Work with remote contract manufacturer as well as local manufacturing to resolve any issues that may arise
  • Keep track of current system condition as well as current and planned utilization
  • Gather end-user feedback and use it to improve deployed system
  • Designing of AI/ML systems utilizing LLMs as well as locally run vision models
  • Designing of robotic/automation system components
  • Creation of a technical documentation including specifications and user manuals
  • Development of software packages and scripts
  • Implementation and configuration of production system software

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Must be above entry level coder and understand programming concepts
  • Understanding of Machine learning process and toolsets
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers, simple circuit design is preferred
  • Knowledge of 3D printing technology and simple 3D design is preferred
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Happy to prototype and not afraid of AI
