About the role
- MSL Teamlead and Medical Manager for Eye Care at AbbVie, focusing on improving global health outcomes. Lead the MSL team while developing medical strategies and materials in a hybrid role.
Responsibilities
- Lead the MSL team for the Eye Care therapeutic area
- Provide continuous coaching and professional development for team members through training and accompanying field visits
- Monitoring, reporting and KPI tracking
- Collect and consolidate field insights to inform medical strategy development in close collaboration with the Medical Unit Lead and Medical Manager
- Implement the Medical Affairs strategy in the field in close coordination with in-field teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders in the therapeutic area
- Plan, prepare and execute medical education projects and advisory boards
- Contribute to the development of scientific publications
- Initiate, monitor and manage regional and (inter)national studies at selected sites
- Work closely cross-functionally with members of the brand team and in-field teams
Requirements
- Completed university degree in medicine or a natural/scientific/pharmaceutical field, with a doctoral degree (PhD/MD)
- Several years of experience as an MSL or Medical Manager, ideally in ophthalmology
- Proven scientific expertise, preferably in ophthalmology
- Leadership experience and strong coaching skills are an advantage
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Confident presence and openness in interactions with diverse stakeholders in an interdisciplinary context
- Very good command of English, spoken and written
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset, determination and a strong drive for results
- High creativity, flexibility and willingness to go the extra mile
- Experience with database systems, MS Office and CRM tools
