VP/Director of Finance responsible for building finance teams and driving strategic decisions at Upvest, a fast-growing FinTech startup. Leading financial planning, analysis and investor relations.
Responsibilities
You will lead building out our Financial Planning, Analysis & Impact (FPAI), Commercial Finance, and Data Analytics teams, each already led by an experienced lead and currently being staffed with additional (senior) analysts.
Upvest has entered its stage of hypergrowth, so we now have a lot more live data to analyze and base our financial and strategic decisions on.
Partner routinely with the CEO and rest of the management team as well as senior members from all other departments across the company to ensure we grow strongly and 'in the right way', as well as achieve high, 'software like' contribution margins as we scale.
Interact with new and existing investors and our Board regularly and play a key role in fundraising activities, both on the equity and debt side.
Requirements
You have 8-10+ years of experience from a mix of Finance, private equity, investment banking or top-tier consulting roles, so you already bring very strong financial acumen, modelling and transaction related skills to the table.
Additional background at a hypergrowth startup/scale-up, ideally in a fintech or (infrastructure) software context, is a big plus.
You know how to build interpersonal relationships and can influence and lead cross-functional discussions and decisions for real strategic and financial impact.
You are always looking to learn something new, are interested and can get deep into the details (if needed), while not losing sight of the big picture and steering the overall effort in the right direction.
You remain positive and solution focused and keep trying until you succeed, even when the situation is tough, something didn’t work the first time, or a mistake was made.
You have leadership and people management skills proven by clear development success stories, high eNPS on your teams, and serving as a magnet for talent.
