About the role
- Solicitor handling a mixed RTA caseload and some personal injury matters for DWF in Liverpool. Focus on proactive case management and client care in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Handling a mixed RTA caseload of ULR matters and some personal injury matters of between 100 and 150 cases from the time the dispute is raised to case completion
- Working in an organised manner to ensure that cases are progressed proactively and that deadlines are met and disbursements are recorded and recovered
- Assessing prospects of success on cases upon which liability and causation is disputed
- Dealing with all stages of the litigation process including drafting particulars of claim and loss schedules, complying with Court directions and drafting court documents, preparing witness statements, preparing a trial bundle and briefing counsel
- Negotiating with opposing insurers and solicitors to achieve case settlements
- Deliver excellent client care and understand client requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice
- Develop increased levels of technical and commercial knowledge via training or supervised working practices.
Requirements
- A qualified Solicitor
- Proven experience handling a litigated RTA caseload (claimant), particularly in relation to vehicle related losses (ULR)
- Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure rules
- The ability to demonstrate both technical and commercial expertise
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to deliver results within strict deadlines
- Desirable: Experience handling personal injury claims
- Familiarity with case management systems
