About the role
- Lead the development of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and Medallion Architecture data models. Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver analytics dashboards, ensure data quality, and translate product metrics into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow.
- Develop data models across the Medallion Architecture layers to support analytics and reporting.
- Optimize SQL queries for large datasets in AWS Athena and other relational systems.
- Build and maintain dashboards and BI workflows using Metabase.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Analytics teams to define startup metrics and KPIs.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and reproducibility across the data warehouse/lake.
- Establish best practices for data engineering and analytics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Strong SQL expertise with experience tuning queries and designing efficient schemas.
- Hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with AWS services, especially Athena, S3, Glue, and Redshift.
- Experience building analytics dashboards with Metabase or similar BI tools.
- Understanding of Medallion Architecture and layered data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of startup/product metrics and how to translate them into analytics workflows.
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering and ETL tasks.
- Collaborative and able to work cross-functionally with product and business teams.
