Smarsh seeks a Platform Engineer I to design AWS cloud infrastructure for digital communications risk management. Collaborate with teams on infrastructure and customer onboarding efforts.
About the role
- Junior Platform Engineering Consultant at Liquid Reply supporting Kubernetes environments and cloud native development. Collaborating on architecture, CI/CD, and multi-cloud deployments.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the architecture, design, and implementation of Kubernetes environments on bare metal or IaaS platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS, VMware, OpenStack)
- Assist in carrying out migrations from/to containerized environments
- Design multi-cloud container orchestration environments with high availability
- Implement and automate CI/CD pipelines, as well as automated provisioning of environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Support system and container hardening and the implementation of additional cloud-native security tools
- Share your knowledge and help create relevant content for clients and prospects about your area of expertise (e.g., technical articles, blog posts, conference talks)
- Deepen your expertise in areas such as container orchestration, multi-cloud, edge cloud, cloud-native application migration, serverless, and microservice architecture
Requirements
- Completed university degree in (business) computer science, (business) mathematics, physics, or a related field
- Comfortable working with Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD/CKS certification is a plus)
- Knowledge of distributed systems, storage, backup & recovery, scaling, and performance optimization
- Understanding of agile methodologies and the DevOps philosophy; experience with automating CI/CD pipelines is advantageous
- Familiarity with concepts, tools, or frameworks such as OpenShift, Mesos, Nomad, microservices, cloud-native architectures, and Self-Contained Systems
- Excellent communication skills in English and German and willing to travel domestically on occasion
