About the role
- DeFi Engineer designing, building, and optimizing trading infrastructure for decentralized exchanges and protocols at Flowdesk. Engaging in quantitative finance, DeFi mechanics, and smart contract systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain systems and smart contracts for trading, execution, and automation strategies across EVM and non-EVM chains.
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting on-chain and off-chain trading pipelines.
- Collaborate with traders to implement and optimise DeFi trading strategies.
- Integrate DeFi protocols into internal trading and risk systems.
- Conduct on-chain simulations, audits, and exploit analysis to ensure reliability and prevent vulnerabilities.
- Stay up-to-date with new DeFi primitives, execution models, and blockchain infrastructure improvements.
Requirements
- Background in quantitative trading systems or on-chain market making.
- Hands-on experience with DeFi protocol integration (AMMs, RFQs, lending, yield aggregation, or cross-chain messaging).
- Strong proficiency in Solidity, and EVM fundamentals (storage layout, calldata encoding, gas refund logic, etc.).
- Strong programming background in Rust, TypeScript for off-chain components and analytics.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and blockchain node infrastructure (RPCs, builders, relays, sequencers).
- Proven understanding of blockchain security issues, including reentrancy, flash-loan attacks, and oracle manipulation.
- Familiarity with gas optimization techniques, opcode-level reasoning, and transaction bundling.
- Experience in analyzing transaction traces, simulating state overrides, or debugging on-chain executions is a plus.
- Comfortable with testing frameworks (e.g., Foundry fuzz tests, Echidna) and mainnet forking environments.
