About the role
- Data Engineer joining German Credit Lines team, focusing on Databricks and data lake solutions. Responsibilities include designing data models and optimizing data pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize data pipelines in Databricks.
- Design and implement data models in a data lake environment.
- Manage and configure Unity Catalog for data asset governance and access control.
- Collaborate with the German Data Management team to establish and follow data management principles.
- Gather business requirements from the Credit Lines Germany team and deliver technical solutions on the company’s data lake platform.
- Prepare documentation and support the adoption of new data solutions.
- Participate in testing and validation to ensure data quality.
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to team members to enable self-service use of data assets for actuarial analysis and risk management.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 1–3 years' experience as a data engineer or in a similar technical role.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake) and cloud-based data platforms.
- Practical experience with Unity Catalog is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience with documentation and process mapping.
- German language skills are a plus.
