About the role
- Business Controller managing financial activities for BASF's Petrochemicals division in Houston, TX. Supporting key management decisions and driving digital transformation in financial reporting and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the Industrial Petrochemicals Controlling Team
- Provide input and participate in making key management decisions of the Acrylic Monomers business
- Support the Head of the North American Acrylic Monomers Business Unit in controlling activities, analyzing, reviewing, and reporting financial data
- Create realistic yet challenging budgets for the business
- Support the business in establishing actions to translate initiatives into desired outcomes of the business measured in key KPIs
- Coordinate and own business reviews, monthly forecasting, annual operating plan and strategic planning processes
- Ensure the quality and integrity of financial reporting and analysis
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Understand accounting principles, practices and procedures
- Site cost accounting experience
- Proven experience with SAP and P&L
- Drive digital transformation and automation
- Strong data analytics skills
- Collaborating skills in guiding a cross-functional, diverse team of professionals
- High attention to detail, communication and adaptability skills
