Principal Engineer providing technical leadership on Reactor Coolant Pumps and related technologies at Westinghouse. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Responsibilities
Develop, review, and approve equipment repair plans, engineering procedures, drawings, and technical specifications
Provide technical leadership and engineering oversight to shop personnel during inspection, repair, manufacturing, and assembly of Reactor Coolant Pump components
Review and disposition non-conformances and technical documentation generated by suppliers and internal operations
Serve as a technical advisor to equipment owners (customers) on RCP maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational best practices
Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, including Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Technicians, and external suppliers
Provide technical input and leadership during proposal development and customer engagements
Define and evaluate critical equipment characteristics to support equipment qualification and commercial dedication activities
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
7+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within the nuclear industry
Strong working knowledge of industrial mechanical components, including pumps, valves, mechanical seals, motors, and related equipment
Experience with manufacturing and inspection processes (e.g., machining, welding, NDE)
