Responsibilities
Shape and improve merchant decision-making.
Partner with Merchandising stakeholders to shape and refine decisions across demand, assortment, and execution using data and advanced modeling.
Evaluate how decisions translate into execution and outcomes, and identify opportunities to improve performance and decision quality.
Lead modeling and analytical solutioning.
Develop and apply statistical and predictive models, experimentation, and optimization techniques to solve complex problems across merchandising and supply chain.
Structure ambiguous problems into clear analytical approaches, defining methodologies and success metrics.
Leverage internal and external data.
Identify and integrate internal and external (third-party) data sources to strengthen analysis and uncover opportunities.
Drive execution and business impact.
Own end-to-end analytical delivery, from planning through execution to measurable outcomes.
Define and evolve business-relevant metrics and KPIs, aligned with decision workflows.
Identify gaps between planning and execution and analyze root causes of inefficiencies and supply-demand imbalances.
Communicate insights and recommendations in a clear and compelling manner to stakeholders.
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Mentor team members and promote strong analytical thinking and best practices.
Requirements
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Option 3: 6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Strong proficiency in Python or R and SQL, with experience in modern data platforms (e.g., GCP, Databricks).
Extensive experience in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, experimentation, and causal inference.
Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions and define business-relevant metrics and KPIs.
Experience delivering insights that lead to measurable impact and improved decision-making.
Experience working with external datasets (e.g., NielsenIQ, Circana, or Census) and familiarity with data standards such as GS1 is a plus.
Strong understanding of data modeling (e.g., star schema, OBT), data quality, and data engineering fundamentals.
Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of insights.
