About the role
- Automation Engineer designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks for government program. Collaborating with development teams and QA analysts in hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks, scripts, and reusable components for web, API, and backend systems
- Develop automation strategies that align with project goals and support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
- Translate functional and technical requirements into automated validation steps and acceptance criteria
- Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and track defects through resolution
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools and practices
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and business analysts to ensure test coverage, identify risks, and troubleshoot system issues
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives
- Support performance, regression, and integration testing across multiple environments
- Provide documentation for test plans, automation processes, results, and recommendations
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in test automation, software testing, or quality engineering
- Hands-on experience developing automation using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, or similar
- Experience building and maintaining automated test suites for CI/CD pipelines
- Strong knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript)
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or comparable automation tooling
- Experience with SQL and testing data-driven applications
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, DevSecOps practices, and modern software engineering principles
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with competing priorities
