About the role
- Presales IT System Engineer role assisting the sales team in customer requirements. Collaborating closely with engineering to develop tailored IT solutions for clients.
Responsibilities
- Technical consulting and support of the sales team in identifying and qualifying customer requirements
- Analysis of customer requirements and development of solution proposals as the technical lead
- Preparation of technical proposal content and solution concepts, including effort estimation and price calculation based on our service catalog
- Delivery of appropriate-level presentations and technical workshops, and support during contract negotiations
- Act as an interface between engineering/operations and support teams to ensure feasibility and implementation of solutions
- Technical clarifications with our suppliers and distributors and close management of proofs of concept
- Market and competitor monitoring to continuously improve the solutions offered
- Maintain and expand customer relationships in close coordination with account managers and project managers
- Support marketing activities with presentations and demos
- Maintain required certification programs for selected vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Sophos, Huawei, etc.)
Requirements
- Several years of experience in a comparable role as a System Engineer or Pre-Sales engineer
- Broad, practical expertise in: Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange, M365/Microsoft Azure, Citrix, virtualization and storage solutions (VMware, Hyper-V / Huawei, NetApp, HPE Alletra), Veeam Backup, and firewall and network environments (preferably Sophos, Huawei)
- Degree from a university of applied sciences or higher technical college; technical certifications are an advantage
- Strong customer- and service-oriented mindset and enjoyment of customer contact
- Confident and professional appearance
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable way
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
- Team-oriented working style
- High resilience and flexibility
- Willingness to travel; valid driving license (category B)
