About the role
- Junior Product Designer responsible for developing innovative product designs at Umbra Studio. Collaborating with team members and supporting project initiatives with a focus on quality and creativity.
Responsibilities
- Work with designers in developing products across a wide range of materials
- Contribute to internal product development and catalogue initiatives
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D files and specifications
- Collaborate closely with Designers, Senior Design Leads, Category Managers, and Marketing
- Support design reviews, vendor discussions, and client presentations with clear visuals and documentation
- Assist with prototyping, mock-ups, sample reviews, and refinement work
- Help ensure projects move forward smoothly by responding quickly to feedback
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of professional or internship experience in Industrial Design or Product Design
- Efficient & Adaptable – Able to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities
- Team Player – Clear communication, listening skills, and collaboration are essential
- AI-Assisted Workflow – Interest in or experience using AI tools to improve efficiency
- 3D CAD Skills – Working knowledge of SolidWorks
- 2D Graphic Skills – Ability to create or edit graphics
- Ability to contribute original design ideas when appropriate
- Model-making or shop mock-up experience
- Understanding of basic production processes and materials
- Comfort working with multiple materials such as plastics, metals, ceramics, and textiles
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate design intent clearly
