About the role
- Senior Financial Reporting Accountant at TMG preparing statutory financial statements and analyses. Leading projects involving financial analysis for internal and external stakeholders with significant autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and related analyses for both internal and external stakeholders
- Interpret complex accounting guidance and provide informed recommendations
- Contribute to special projects involving financial analysis or organizational changes driven by senior leadership
- Oversee the work of others and manage a wide range of sophisticated tasks with minimal supervision
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly statutory financial statements and analysis
- Responsible for the preparation of statutory quarterly and annual statements along with supplemental filings (IEE's, Combined Annual Statement)
- Responsible for the preparation of statutory audit report and assist independent auditors as needed
- Responsible for the preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations in support of the monthly close process
- Assist and/or perform assessment of risks and internal controls over financial reporting in alignment with the Company's internal control framework
- Research technical accounting issues and document recommendations in white paper format
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
- Four to six years work experience in insurance accounting
