Responsibilities
Administer health, welfare, and retirement plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, spending accounts, and voluntary benefits
Oversee absence management programs
Assist the Benefits Manager with external vendor and internal teams (HRIS, payroll, HR partners)
Resolve complex benefit issues and ensure accurate processing of transactions and deductions
Identify and implement process enhancements
Audit and reconcile benefit data, resolve discrepancies, and maintain data integrity
Provide guidance on eligibility, plan provisions, and compliance
Develop and deliver benefit communications, orientations, and open enrollment materials
Lead or support initiatives such as open enrollment, plan implementations, and system updates
Prepare reports for audits and filings, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for cost optimization and program improvements
Ensure adherence to laws and regulations (COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, IRS)
Stay informed on industry trends and best practices
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 3–5 years of progressive benefits administration experience, including health, welfare, retirement plans, and absence management
Experience with vendor management and open enrollment processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HR systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, PeopleSoft)
Strong analytical and reporting skills
Understanding of benefits laws and regulations (COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA) and IRS rules for retirement plans
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle sensitive information
Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities
