About the role
- VP – Senior Information Architect leading governance processes within Synchrony’s Data & Analytics Engineering organization. Collaborating with architects and business stakeholders to enhance data architecture standards.
Responsibilities
- Own the L3 data architecture governance process
- Collaborate with enterprise and domain architects for alignment of data architecture standards
- Lead issue and risk management activities for data architecture
- Author and curate architecture governance content
- Partner with compliance, risk, and engineering teams to embed controls
- Communicate progress and risk exposure to senior leadership
- Drive automation and optimization of data architecture governance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in information technology or 15+ years of information technology experience without a degree
- Minimum of 8 years in a governance role or senior data architecture roles in regulated environments
- Proven experience in data governance or data architecture risk and control frameworks
- Strong collaboration skills with architects, engineers, and audit teams
- Experience in audit coordination and regulatory compliance for technology platforms
- Knowledge of industry best practices in data architecture, particularly cloud modernization
- Familiarity with risk management and issue tracking tools
- Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
