About the role
- Senior Backend Engineer developing backend services and APIs for ScorePlay, an AI media platform for sports. Taking ownership of backend services to ensure reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines in Go and related technologies.
- Monitor performance and reliability, ensuring scalable, maintainable systems.
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and indexing for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Deploy and manage backend systems on AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
- Optimize resources for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Partner with front-end engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Help translate business and product goals into reliable technical solutions.
- Test, debug, and review code to ensure functionality, performance, and resilience.
- Lead by example through code reviews, mentoring, and sharing best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend experience, with at least 1 year working in Go in a production environment.
- Comfortable working in fast-moving environments with evolving priorities.
- Solid understanding of software design principles and API development.
- Strong communication in English (French is a plus).
- You’re based in Paris or nearby, and willing to join the team at the office at least 2-3 days per week.
- A mindset focused on quality, pragmatism and delivery.
