Senior Investment Manager responsible for M&A transactions in buy-and-build context at an industrial holding. Collaborating with managing partners to drive end-to-end investment management.
Responsibilities
End-to-end responsibility for M&A transactions in a buy-and-build context: building and managing a structured deal pipeline in defined target segments (in close collaboration with the partners)
Developing well-founded investment theses and conducting market, competitor and company analyses
Creating and refining financial models (especially LBO and scenario analyses) and valuing targets
Structuring transactions including purchase price mechanisms, earn-outs and financing structures
Independently managing the entire deal process (NDA, term sheet, due diligence, contract negotiations, signing & closing)
Translating the investment thesis into concrete value-creation and integration plans
Building a scalable M&A operating system: developing and standardizing models, templates and decision logics
Structuring data rooms and ensuring a consistent documentation and reporting framework
Targeted use of automation and AI across the entire M&A process (e.g., screening, document analysis, due diligence support, reporting)
Continuous improvement of processes, tools and data foundations
Requirements
University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field
Several years of relevant professional experience (approx. 4–8 years) in private equity (small/mid-cap), investment banking, transaction services or corporate finance
Strong understanding of transaction processes and experience in deal execution and structuring
Solid skills in financial modeling, valuation and investment analysis
Strong entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to independently develop and implement investment theses
High interest in operational value creation and buy-and-build strategies
Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and open to data-driven and AI-supported working methods
Structured, independent working style with strong execution capability
Fluent German and English
