About the role

  • Radiation Therapist delivering prescribed therapeutic radiation doses safely and accurately. Working in Wisconsin locations with possibilities for patient imaging and interaction in the healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily imaging and delivers daily prescribed therapeutic radiation doses to radiation therapy patients safely and accurately.
  • Incorporates technical knowledge of equipment and expertise of clinical treatment set-up, anatomical landmarks, treatment recording and management during patient care.
  • Interacts effectively with patients and their family members, physicians, healthcare workers, and radiation oncology department personnel.
  • Delivers prescribed doses of radiation, ensuring patient safety during treatment, and documents patient care in treatment record and inpatient chart if applicable.
  • Develops understanding of patient's physical and emotional status and reports that to appropriate staff.
  • Works with growth and development needs of all client populations.

Requirements

  • Completion of radiation therapy course from an approved school or accredited program.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
  • If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board of Examiners is required.
