About the role
- Analyzing inventory transactions and resolving related issues for Sally Beauty. Responsible for month-end close activities and providing audit support.
Responsibilities
- Track, analyze and monitor inventory activity, transactions and adjustments.
- Identify unusual adjustments, escalate and pursue resolution, working with different departments and functions.
- Take the initiative to propose corrections, track and document all issues, and play a key role in driving root cause analysis and ultimate resolution.
- Month-end close responsibilities, including pre- and post-close tasks: journal entry preparation, report generation, and other duties as assigned.
- Preparation of account reconciliations according to company and departmental policy.
- Provide information to internal and external auditors.
- Provide assistance in special projects and management requests as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or related field, preferred
- Accounting experience resulting in the ability to understand inventory process flows and impact on the general ledger
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Previous experience in month-end close processes
- Experience within a Sarbanes-Oxley environment desired
- Working knowledge of and experience with SQL highly desirable
- Some travel may be required, up to 5%
