About the role
- Embedded Software Engineer responsible for design and verification of military avionics solutions at Collins Aerospace in Aguadilla, PR. Engaging in software development for military helicopter situational awareness.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate and verify military avionics solutions
- Develop advanced architecture and algorithms to enhance situational awareness and navigation for Military Helicopter pilots
- Engage in command and control software for complex mission sensors and weapons systems in helicopter cockpits
- Perform software integration, regression test, formal test execution, and documentation for software testing
- Work with a cross-functional agile team to complete integration, verification and validation
- Collaborate with other system and software engineers
- Must be willing to travel 1-2 times a year for Integration Events
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
- Software development or testing experience
- Python scripting experience
- Good communication skills with ability to clearly derive, write, and review System Requirements
- Avionics knowledge (development or usage)
- AGILE development knowledge
- DO-178 (or similar) certification-based development knowledge
- Ethernet bus protocol knowledge (TCP/UDP)
- Embedded Software experience
- Mil-Std-1553B bus protocol knowledge
- Graphical based verification knowledge
