Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain database servers, including installation, configuration, updates, backup and restoration
- Analyze and optimize queries to improve database performance
- Implement and maintain data security policies
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure continuous data availability
- Monitor database integrity and support load testing
- Prepare performance reports, metrics and analyses
- Collaborate with and support projects across other areas to understand requirements and ensure the database adequately meets them
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields
- Postgraduate degree or specialization in related areas is a plus
- Experience in advanced administration of relational databases
- Proven experience with data management (data modeling, governance and data quality)
- Experience in system and database migration and integration
- Proficiency in relational and dimensional data modeling
- Strong knowledge of SQL (advanced queries, stored procedures, indexes and performance optimization)
- Experience administering relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server
- Experience with non-relational (NoSQL) databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Redis
- Scripting skills (Python, Shell Script, PowerShell)
- Proficiency with managed public cloud services such as AWS, Azure, GCP
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or ARM Templates for automation and provisioning of cloud databases via Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience using performance monitoring tools
- Knowledge of database security best practices
- Experience with ETL tools and cloud architecture
- Previous experience leading projects, demonstrating strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Desirable: Ability to work in dynamic environments, strong analytical skills, knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Protheus), ITIL Foundation certification or AWS certifications.
