About the role
- Senior Linux System Administrator providing Linux support in an RDT&E environment at Indian Head, MD. Collaborating with a team to manage systems and troubleshoot issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide Linux based workstation and server support to an RDT&E environment
- Perform day-to-day administrative tasks related to managing a RedHat Linux based cluster
- Create custom scripts (Bash, Python, Powershell) for operational management
- Install, configure, and maintain software applications and hardware
- Use Ansible to manage configuration requirements on RHEL and Ubuntu systems
- Deploy and support cloud infrastructure
- Deploy and support container infrastructure/orchestration including Kubernetes, Docker
- Support a DevOps infrastructure and provide technical assistance
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of systems configuration and procedures
- Provide secondary support to core and end user RHEL systems as needed.
Requirements
- Five - ten (5 - 10) years of experience.
- DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level 3 Certification (Security X or CISSP)
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent
- Linux system administration knowledge
- Working configuration management knowledge with Ansible and/or other enterprise tools
- Working networking technology knowledge
- Working networked storage knowledge
- Working knowledge of DISA STIGs
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong experience in DevOPs, Cloud and Container administration.
