About the role
- Executive Director, Structuring Solutions customizing financial solutions for clients in the reinsurance industry. Collaborating with diverse teams to address financial challenges and enhance client offerings.
Responsibilities
- Customise Structured Solutions for clients jointly with the Business Development team.
- Advise on inforce block Financial Solutions transactions both internally and externally when required.
- Working with the deal team to oversee the deal executions for both inforce block and new business flow transactions.
- Address technical issues with clients around the solution, including discussions on the potential capital and financial impact and bridge gap between pricing and BD.
- Establish internal infrastructure within RGA required for launching solutions with the clients including issues around business flow (with Structured Finance) and Investment and Hedging execution (with Investment Solutions and Trading teams).
- Develop monitoring / projection tools to assess the emergence of key performance indicators (e.g. PTAOI) by working with relevant teams (e.g. Finance, Investments and Valuation) to provide updated projections and explain variances to business decision makers.
- Work with relevant teams on the monitoring of funding capacity, new business mix, and relevant limits in the context of New Business Flow.
- Research on regulations with focus on capital impact on clients and the industry.
- Conduct targeted research on key client financial statements and strategy materials to identify leads and insights to support BD efforts.
- Work with team to Develop innovative propositions and product concepts, test new ideas with clients, and bring new structures to market (e.g., longevity risk transfer, fund withheld solutions).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or related disciplines
- FSA, ASA, CPA, CFA qualification or equivalent; high calibre candidates who are making good progress to being fully qualified will also be considered
- 10 years’ relevant industry experience in reinsurance or finance; expert knowledge of life insurance and reinsurance market or corporate finance
- Strong critical and innovative thinking with the ability to develop business insights, stay intellectually curious to learn technical nuances related to areas of importance
- Highly organized, solutions focused and delivery-orientated with the ability to work with multiple concurrent projects, cyclical work flow and demanding time frames
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others, convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received at various level of details
- Strong project management skills and ability to partner with internal & external stakeholders in a collaborative manner
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
- Ability to work independently and to work well within a team environment.
