About the role
- Senior Accountant supervising month-end processes and supporting financial projects for an expanding insurance company. Requires 5 years experience and bilingual proficiency in French and English.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and perform the month-end close process for multiple entities
- Prepare month-end accruals
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts
- Balance intercompany accounts
- Prepare financing-related payments and other related transactions
- Work closely with other members of the accounting team
- Respond to internal and external inquiries
- Prepare analyses and provide information to external auditors
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
- Support and participate in various financial projects
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Financial Controller
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a corporate accountant
- Knowledge of Microsoft GP
- Degree in Accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take initiative
- Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written) to support our businesses and clients across Canada and the United States
