Finance Systems Analyst responsible for analyzing and enhancing finance systems at Peel Region. Collaborating with Finance and IT teams toward strategic and operational goals.
Responsibilities
Analyze and document current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") financial processes.
Identify and prioritize system enhancements, automation opportunities, and process improvements.
Develop business requirements and support system design, testing, and implementation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare business cases and long-term technology plans.
Liaise with Information & Technology Services (I&TS) to align on architecture, integration, and support needs.
Maintain financial systems inventory and ensure documentation and change management readiness.
Support project planning, ROI analysis, post-implementation reviews, and report preparation.
Requirements
University degree or college diploma in a related discipline with at least 2-3 years of experience in system/business analysis including analysis and design of business systems, information and systems requirements development, data modeling and analysis, and process modeling.
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Strong skills in business and systems analysis.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
Solid understanding of finance operations and strategy.
Highly motivated, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
Skilled in requirements gathering, testing, and documentation.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Access).
Familiar with Visual Basic or similar programming languages.
Effective team player and independent contributor.
