About the role

• Senior Cloud Architect responsible for optimizing Microsoft Azure architecture at Quest One. Leading cloud solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in a global company.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for designing, further developing and optimizing the Microsoft Azure cloud architecture and ensuring it meets current and future business requirements.
• You develop holistic cloud and hybrid architectures and advise internal stakeholders on the selection and integration of technologies.
• You translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure and high-performance cloud solutions.
• You define and implement governance, security and compliance frameworks for the Azure environment.
• You design solutions for data management, identity and access control, network architecture, as well as business continuity and disaster recovery.
• You work closely with IT security, network and data architects, DevOps teams and external service providers to create an integrated and future-proof cloud landscape.
• You conduct architecture reviews and ensure that best practices and standards are followed.
• You support the selection and introduction of new cloud services and technologies and assess their impact on the existing infrastructure.
• You accompany projects from planning through implementation and ensure technical quality and consistency.
• You actively contribute to the further development of IT service processes and automation solutions.
• You provide end-user support for hardware and software environments (business applications and M365 components).

Requirements

• You have a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable qualification.
• You have several years of proven experience designing and implementing Azure cloud architectures in complex enterprise environments.
• You are familiar with Azure services such as Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, Governance and Monitoring and can apply them strategically.
• You have solid knowledge of general IT operations, including networking, virtualization, identity, business continuity, governance, data platforms and ideally security and disaster recovery.
• You have experience designing, implementing and administering Microsoft Cloud/Azure infrastructures, architectures and resources.
• You possess scripting skills, preferably in PowerShell, and are proficient with Intune and Entra.
• You have experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint and are familiar with ITSM (e.g. ITIL).
• You have excellent German and English language skills.
