About the role
- Paralegal supporting the Legal Department by reviewing and negotiating research-related agreements at a biopharmaceutical company. Collaborates with internal teams to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate routine R&D, clinical trial, Tech Ops and commercial agreements under the supervision of attorneys.
- Identify, flag, and propose revisions for non-standard terms, risks, or deviations from company templates.
- Manage the end-to-end contract process, including intake, legal review, routing for internal approvals, signature, and final execution.
- Collaborate with R&D and Tech Ops business stakeholders, procurement, and finance to facilitate timely contract execution.
- Ensure compliance with FDA and EMA regulations and data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR/HIPAA) relevant to research activities.
- Maintain accurate records, data, and metadata within the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system and shared drives.
- Generate regular reports on contract status, renewals, and expiration dates.
- Perform other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a corporate legal department or law firm, with a focus on contracts.
- Strong contract drafting and redlining skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage highly sensitive information.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently/with limited direct supervision in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment.
- Excellent planning, organization and time-management including the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with CLM systems.
