Responsibilities
Own and document all aspects of Game Design (core loops, mechanics, progression, UX, narrative, level design / balancing).
Create playable prototypes using Gemini to help validate key design hypotheses and iterate on them to get to a solid, cohesive PoC (proof of concept) Gemini build.
Be responsible for planning play testing and making observations on play testing to inform iteration.
Ensure creative intent is realised throughout development, working closely with the creative lead.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (art, engineering, production).
Clearly communicate high-level design vision and low-level design detail to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Game Designer operating as the only designer in a multi-disciplinary team.
Someone who thinks about systems and how they interact with each other.
An excellent communicator who can confidently present their thinking in a clear and concise manner to all team members and stakeholders.
Technically astute and skilled with creating playable prototypes using GenAI based on design hypotheses.
Someone who is confident in running playtests and synthesising key learnings and next steps.
Someone who has extensive experience in writing design documents (e.g. Pitches, Concept Documents, GDD’s).
Someone who has experience taking an initial concept into a final product.
Experienced in digital / physical hybrid play.
Someone who has shipped a physical, multiplayer board game.
Someone who is organised, pro-active and hands-on.
Specific experience in using Gemini to create playable prototypes.
