About the role

• Senior Backend Engineer joining fast-growing technology organization developing applications and platforms. Collaborating with teams and providing expertise on web project implementation and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a subject matter expert and provides guidance to full time staff on business requirements and implementation for web projects.
• Provides perspective to web projects, with respect to the design and implementation of the most optimal solution while taking into consideration infrastructure and security requirements, industry best practices, and engaged vendor roadmaps.
• Proactively identifies and implements refinements and improvements.
• Works closely with client IT staff to uncover areas for improvement; designs and recommends new product features and product enhancements.
• Reviews quality assurance plans and activities aimed at effectively testing and verifying systems and applications, guaranteeing their quality and security, and suggests improvements where identified.
• Develops and promotes standards, techniques, tools, and training materials to support assigned projects; creates documentation in a standard and organized manner for client IT and business staff alike.
• Participates in code review activities for web applications.

Requirements

• +8 years of experience with Drupal, PHP, Custom Drupal module development and theming.
• Strong experience using PHP framework experience (Symfony) is preferred
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• Experience in Continuous Integration and Delivery Tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins.
• Experience with unit/integration testing and continuous integration
• UI / UX experience including responsive design with libraries and frameworks such as Bootstrap and CSS preprocessors including SASS.
• Experience in developing reusable artifacts/frameworks, re-usable assets, reference architecture, design, development, and QA best practice required.
• MySQL (or MariaDB) relational database experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
