About the role
- Corrosion Engineer providing technical and field support for PG&E's natural gas transmission pipeline system. Engaging in technical problem-solving related to pipeline corrosion prevention and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes basic engineering principles to help operations and maintenance departments comply with Corrosion Federal Regulations
- Cathodic protection system design, cathodic protection system troubleshooting and repair, corrosion failure analysis
- Technical consultation
- Writing and revising PG&E standards related to corrosion control.
- Below and above grade coating selection and application
- Management of expense and capital projects
- Auditing of corrosion control records
- Information and data gathering, associated with corrosion related activities.
- May be responsible for a small portion of PG&E’s service territory and oversees all corrosion related aspects.
- Collaborates and supports the maintenance organizations, corrosion investigations, and the installation of mitigation equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Valid California driver's license on day one of employment
- Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192, CPUC GO 112E
