About the role
- (Senior) PLC Software Automation Engineer focusing on the development and quality assurance of wind turbine software. Collaborating with international teams while working on control and automation technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance control system functions for the operational control of wind turbines.
- Clarify technical issues and create software specifications.
- Implement software functions on programmable logic controllers (PLC) according to requirements.
- Define test and acceptance criteria for the qualification of wind turbine software.
- Ensure quality through software testing on HiL setups in the software laboratory and on-site at wind turbines.
- Produce associated software documentation.
- Collaborate closely with various departments in an international environment.
Requirements
- Degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
- Professional experience in PLC software development according to IEC 61131 is desirable.
- Experience defining requirements for software functions is required.
- Good knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., PROFINET, Modbus TCP) is required.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Access; experience with MATLAB/Simulink is a plus.
- Experience with agile software development using SCRUM is preferred.
- Fluent English; German is a plus.
- Strong results orientation and quality awareness.
